Compan, Magali

Magali CompanMagali Compan is Associate Professor of French and Francophone Studies in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures.  She received her Ph.D. in French from the University of Michigan. She is the co-editor of Land and Landscapes in Francographic Literature: Remapping Uncertain Territories and the editor of Visualizing Violence in Francophone Cultures. She is a specialist on the literatures and cultures of the Francophone Indian Ocean. She has published articles on Ananda Devi, Shenaz Patel, Jacques Rabemananjara, Jean-Luc Raharimanana, and Nathacha Appanah. She is now working on a manuscript on multidirectional memory in the Francophone Indian Ocean.
